apparently it’s only the second time my group has dropped one (i wasnt always part of this august group)

Gosh that’s sad because I really have a special place for the OVA.

whoever the actress that played ai did an all right job, she at least had personality and was fun

but then there was like an arc where she had no screen time at all and none of the other cast had any presence at all

ive never watched it so im catching up on it before i start watching with them

but man, the things these guys can do with puppets is insane

so a couple of weeks ago the ending of a ssss.dynazenon episode ended with a character showing up who is apparently from a different show (ssss.gridman) so we took a couple of weeks to marathon through those for context

list was essentially logh 1-6 gridman/7-12 gridman and thunderbolt fantasy

puppet show is rly good fyi

On the other hand, I will give them credit for FINALLY localizing Saint Seiya, and they did a decent job of subbing it.

lol my anime night watched saint seiya with subs and spanish dubs

it was hilarious

(one of the people in the group is from puerto rico and i think he watched it that way growing up)

In terms of newer shows, I’d recommend Vinland Saga. I’ve only given perfect scores to about a dozen shows out of my 1300+ watches, and that was one of em.

flash II started out a ton better than the first flash. loving stone wars, for some reason giving shounen hypey that hinges around science instead of friendship is like a million times better.

Flash isn’t a sequel, it’s a reboot.

there’s like a few weird nods to the og series but for some reason they decided that all the action and quick comedy needed to instead just be mean-spiritedness spread out over unfun dramatic plots. it occasionally would get silly, but rarely in the way the og series did.

watched the escaflowne movie finally
